In Bangla Emerald is called PANNA, In Arabic it is called JAMRUD. Emerald is a very attractive gem found in mines. It belongs to aquamarine (one kind of gem of same chemical composition).

Class of stones found in mines and is a combination of aluminium, silicate, beryllium and oxygen. Aquamarine is also a gem stone looks like emerald to a great extent. A high quality EMERALD IS DEEP in colour and is emerald is found in light and moss colour also. A supreme quality emerald’s (if it is found luckily) price is higher than Burmese RUBY or high quality DIAMOND.Elements of alkaline properties such as lithium, sodium, potassium etc are also found in emerald.
