Introduction: One of the most important organic gems which are used to remove the evil effects of moon and it strengthens the mind force and induces good sleep. Pearls also give good memory, good thinking, accurate decision, cures uterine disorder, heart and eye diseases, diabetes, TB, constipation and hysteria etc. It is good for ladies, as it increases their beauty and facial lustre. Most of the few quality of natural pearls harvested from the Persian Gulf, Srilanka, the Red sea, and the Philippines; still smallest quantities are collected from the sea off the coast of Venezuela and from the Gulf of California, In the other places, such as the seas of Japan and along the north west coast of Australia, the industry for cultured pearl has now developed top such an extent that the possibility of finding natural pearls as well is disregarded.
Gems and ornamental value:
One of the most valuable gems is antiquity; pearls are still highly valued today, although not to same extent. Pearls are evaluated according to size, colour, lustre, regularity of form, compactness it mean the more watery, translucent ones are less durable, therefore less valuable.
Gems pearl of one piece of 4 Carat weight now are priced nearly 3000-4000 US$. This kind of size of natural pearls is not available.
Cultured pearls are also 100 times less valuable than a natural pearl.
